Game Scope

Game Scope is a stethoscope-like device used by CR. It is mainly used to detect for the presence of the game illness, though it can also be used for communication with compatible devices (audio only or projecting a video chat), searching for Bugsters like a radar, or as a microscope (when inserted into a computer with a DNA analysis apparatus).

The patient bed at CR can also scan for the game illness, and is sometimes used in place of a Game Scope if the patient is already at CR. To check a patient, a doctor must simply put the Game Scope's earbuds in their ears like a normal stethoscope, then hold the probe end in front of the patient and trigger it (it is seen to work at a decent distance).

This will project a holographic screen; a positive diagnosis will display as an icon bouncing around on the image of the patient, a negative diagnosis will show no icon. Each game's Bugster infection registers as a different icon; Bugsters' leveled up reappearances show similar but slightly different variations of their previous icons; Level 30 Bugsters have their full body appear on the display instead of an icon.

Game Illness Game Illness otherwise described as Bugsters, are a type of computer virus and the main antagonists of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. The Bugster virus is a variety of computer virus. It was born from the glitches in the 10 games that Genm Corp. had in development five years ago, and most Bugsters seem to be based on characters from these games. Unlike most malware, the Bugster infects human beings, replicating until they take over their host's bodies, eventually causing the host to disappear and be completely taken over. The only way to treat the victim is to use the Gamer Driver to remove the Bugster from the host and then destroy it before the virus completely takes over.

Infection Icons:

Unless it was a production error, Bang Bang Shooting and Bakusou Bike appear to have the same infection icons as each other for both their Bugsters' initial and their leveled-up appearances. Their icons of multiple trios of wavy lines are also the only times that multiple icons appeared for a single infection.

CR (Cyberbrain Room)

CR doctor meeting room CR Patient Ward bed

Cyberbrain Room simply as CR, is a secret center used for treating the victims of the Bugster Infection, run by Seito University Hospital's Director Haima Kagami. It is also Poppi Pipopapo/Asuna Karino, Director Kagami, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, and Kamen Rider Brave's base of operations. CR can only be accessed by pressing a specific elevator button combination, a reference to video games having special moves or cheat codes triggered by long chains of button presses.

CR is located in the basement level of the Seito University Hospital, accessed through an elevator by pressing the keys: B1 (basement 1) twice, 1 (floor 1) twice, and then Door Open and Door Close at the same time. It features a patient ward where a medical bed can be wheeled up to a large array of monitoring equipment, the control panel resembling the joystick and colored buttons of arcade game machines. There is also a room overlooking the ward for doctors to observe the patient from, which is also where Poppi's DoReMiFa Beat arcade machine is located.

CR was established 5 years ago by the Ministry of Health to aid Genm Corp. in dealing with the Bugster outbreak caused by the glitches in Genm's in-development games on Zero Day. Kamen Rider Proto Snipe worked with them, but after failing to defeat Graphite and thereby allowing Saki Momose to die, he left. Hiiro Kagami, Saki's boyfriend and the director's son, joined CR because of this incident, becoming Kamen Rider Brave.

Emu Hojo discovered CR while helping Sota Suyama, a patient suffering from the Bugster Infection. While told to forget about CR and the Bugsters by Director Kagami, he instead stood by his patient and eventually became Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, joining CR's efforts to fight the Bugsters. Having been busy in America, Hiiro soon returns and dismisses Emu's presence and help, but Emu remains resolved to stay, not liking Hiiro's cold attitude towards his patients.

Ministry of Health

Ministry of Health

Ministry of Health is a branch of the Japanese government that manages medicine, health and is involved in public safety in certain health crises such as disease outbreaks. After the disaster known as Zero Day, the Ministry collaborated with Genm Corp. and Seito University Hospital to develop methods to combat the Bugster infection. This led to the development of the Gamer Driver system and the Hospital's CR room to treat patients who were infected with the Bugster virus. On January of 2017, weeks after a mass outbreak caused by Graphite, Deputy Director-General Hinata went public about the Bugsters at a press conference. Following the raid of Kuroto Dan's hideout by police authorities, the Ministry had been monitoring 9 Proto Gashats until it was reportedly stolen.

Virtual reality (VR) is a technology utilized by Genm Corp. Concluding a series of tests he was made to undergo at CR after discovering the Bugster Virus, Taiga Hanaya was entered into a VR simulation by Poppy Pipopapo on Kuroto Dan's order. Provided with the Gashacon Magnum, Taiga was faced with a succession of five Bugster Virus grunts whom he expertly terminated due to his experience in radiology, proving himself to be an ideal candidate for Kamen Rider Snipe.

Virtual Operations

Ex-Aid

Following his first transformation into Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, Emu Hojo, at the request of Kuroto Dan, Emu entered the CR patient room where he was to undertake a simulation as the Action Gamer. Given Dan's VR device by Poppy Pipopapo, Emu was clueless as to how he would start only to enter the simulation having been knocked out by Poppy. Within the simulation, Emu was faced with generic Bugster Virus grunts. Instructed by Poppy, Emu transformed into Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Action Gamer from Level 1 to Level 2 before activating his Mighty Critical Strike finisher using the Kimewaza Slot Holder. Having cleared the simulation, Emu received no explanation for why he had to take this test as Poppy left, attempting to go after her only to stumble from the bed.

Snipe

Remembering the passcode from his time as a CR doctor, Taiga Hanaya entered CR where he found Kuroto Dan. Realizing that Dan's VR device was on his person, Dan explaining that he wished to record Emu's specs again for a tune up, Taiga informed him that he had confiscated Emu's Mighty Action X Gashat for himself. While a disappointed Dan attempted to leave, Taiga stopped him by revealing his knowledge that the Proto Gashats were responsible for Zero Day, threatening to expose the news to the public if Dan refused to cooperate. Leaving Dan with no other choice, Taiga received a one-time VR simulation of the Shooting Gamer from Dan. Instructed by Dan within the simulation, Taiga transformed into Kamen Rider Snipe Shooting Gamer from Level 1 to Level 2 before activating his Bang Bang Critical Strike finisher using the Kimewaza Slot Holder.

Brave

Frustrated over having been defeated by Genm twice, Hiiro Kagami would confront Dan alone as he visited CR, demanding that he give him a VR simulation. Dan explained to Hiiro that Genm used the Proto Mighty Action X Gashat, stolen on Zero Day, which essentially had the same parameters as Ex-Aid. Knowing this, Hiiro became more flustered and demanded that Dan simulate him right now to which he complied. Simulating the Quest Gamer, Hiiro faced Genm as opposed to a Bugster Virus. Instructed by Dan, Hiiro transformed into Kamen Rider Brave Quest Gamer from Level 1 to Level 2 before activating his Taddle Critical Strike finisher using the Kimewaza Slot Holder. Though clearing the simulation, Hiiro was not satisfied since he knew that the real Genm was not that weak. To evade further questions, Dan left to check the new Gashats. Inspecting the screen, Hiiro found that Dan had set the difficulty level to Easy, much to his confusion

Lazer

While Kiriya was recovering from injuries sustained in battle late at night at Seito University Hospital, Dan forced him to use the VR and simulate him as the Bike Gamer while he was unconscious. Ordering Kiriya to transform in order to collect his data, Dan stated that the simulation was a game he created and as such allowed no escape from him. Kiriya, however, believed he was lying, but had no choice but to listen to Dan's commands. Dan then for unknown reasons, controlled Kiriya's movements to transform into Bike Gamer Level 1 to Level 2, while threatening that he will let him pay the price of knowing his identity. After that, he took the Bakusou Bike Gashat out of Kiriya's Gamer Driver and inserted it into the Kimewaza Slot Holder, thus activating the finisher.
