Amon Dagger is a mystical Egyptian relic that was a present from Prince Khufu to Priestess Chay-Ara. It consists of the Nth metal and was used by Vandal Savage to kill Khufu and Chay-Ara. Thought to be magic, it is later revealed in Legendary that the Nth metal in the weapon is Thanagarian technology. The Amon Dagger was given to Priestess Chay-Ara by Prince Khufu four thousands years ago. It was sacred, and it was said that only a high priestess could read its inscription.
Vandal Savage, who at the time was known as "Hath-Set", eventually discovered that Khufu and Chay-Ara were lovers. Enraged, he used the Amon Dagger to first kill Khufu and then Chay-Ara. After the death of Aldus Boardman, Carter Hall and Kendra Saunders found a newspaper article about the dagger kept in his suit, revealing that the dagger was sold to a Russian named Sasha Mahnovski on September 21, 1975. Recognizing the dagger, and since the dagger was involved in their first lives' death, Kendra and Carter realized they could use it to kill Savage.
While Carter tried to help Kendra remember the dagger's inscription, which she eventually did, Ray Palmer, Leonard Snart and Mick Rory head out and tried to steal the dagger from the Russian, which turned out to be harder than expected since the owner was Vandal Savage. He asked them to call the rest of their team, who later arrived at the scene. Carter tried to kill Savage with the dagger, only to learn that Kendra must be the one who wields the dagger for it to be able to kill Savage. He then was stabbed by Savage with it, dying only a few seconds later.

Nth metal meteorite are also what caused Vandal Savage's immortality. Savage succeeded in using concentrated doses of the Nth metal meteorite compound to turn people into monstrous, bird-like humanoids reminiscent of the physical manifestation of Hawkgirl's and Hawkman's abilities, while Savage is the only one who received immortality from it. It is believed the bird like traits of the Manhawks and both Kendra and Carter are traits exhibited by the Thanagarians.
In the 1950s
Another meteor fell in Earth, Hath-Set, now known as Vandal Savage, used this to mutate a large group of teenagers into monstrous winged like creatures to test its capabilities.
In late 2015
Vandal found the Staff and attempted to destroy Central City. Unfortunately, the combined forces of Green Arrow and The Flash countered his immortality and destroyed him although Vandal was revived due to his death not by Chay-Ara's reincarnation.
Vandal in 2166
After being captured by Rip Hunter, escaped with Kendra and Scythian to take their blood, planning to destroy the world and the timeline by finding every meteor throughout time to remake the world and the timeline in his own image. Unfortunately for Savage, Rip Hunter's team managed to kill him and destroy the meteors.
On Earth Thirty-Eight
Cadmus captured Mon-El and Supergirl and imprisoned them in Nth metal cages that could withstand Daxamite and Kryptonian strength

Current timeline
In Ancient Egypt, during the time of Khufu and Chay-Ara's first death, Earth and Thanagar became aligned, and a meteor fell to Earth that gave Hath-Set immortality and Khufu and Chay-Ara the ability to reincarnate. Another meteor fell in Harmony Falls in 1958, and Vandal Savage used it to mutate Tommy Fuller and Jefferson Jackson into Manhawks. The final meteor was collected by Savage in 2021, but flown into the sun by Rip Hunter. After the destruction of Oculus the Time Masters were unable to calculate the future of the current timeline, citing the Thanagarian invasion as a possibility that may or may not happen. Due to this change of plans, the Time Masters withdrew their support of Savage's cause.

After Rip Hunter's team attempted to rescue Kendra Saunders in 1944, they discovered Savage stealing another Thanagarian meteor from the Nazis. Martin Stein was able to deduce that Savage wished to erase time going back to 1700 BC by detonating three meteors in three different time periods when Earth and Thanagar were aligned. Martin calculated that the two planets would be aligned in 1958, 1975, and 2021. Savage time traveled to 1958 to give his younger self Kendra's blood to detonate the first meteor, which was stopped by Mick and Ray. Savage then used the meteor from 1944 in his second ritual in Norway, 1975 but was stopped by Jefferson and Sara. The final meteor was collected by Savage in 2021, but flown into the sun by Rip Hunter.
